Work with GRAIL

We collaborate on research, public data, workshops, and teaching. We welcome partnerships with civil society organizations, media, industry, and policymakers, as well as support for student research.

Working together

Research with a public purpose

We study AI in education and the future of work, the practices of AI and social media companies, and policy from the local to the international level. We build research with the people and organizations closest to these questions.

Civil society

We work with community groups and nonprofits to study how AI affects people and bring their views into public debate. CIVIC examines local responses to data centers; AI SHARE examines whose views appear in AI surveys.

With the Montreal AI Ethics Institute, we publish AI Policy Corner. Work with organizations including the Council on AI Governance and Responsible AI Institute has ranged from research and teaching to developing educational programs, student internships, and fellowships.

Public policy

We work with policymakers and public agencies on evidence behind AI rules, adoption in government, and oversight. AGORA maps policy approaches; LOCAL AI studies how local governments use and govern AI.

Our researchers have advised on the EU General-Purpose AI Code of Practice, help lead the Academic Alliance for AI Policy, and participate through Purdue in the NIST AI Consortium.
