Yuhao (Jack) Wang is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of Chicago, where he focuses on technology policy, AI governance, and data analytics. His research interests center on how technological innovation generates unequal social benefits, displaces middle-class workers, and risks creating new forms of exclusion—issues that require stronger public awareness and governance frameworks.

Jack’s background bridges engineering and policy. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and has experience in computer vision, autonomous driving, and software engineering. At UChicago, he has served as a Research Assistant in health policy, developing predictive models with survey and machine learning methods, and as a Teaching Assistant for coding and economics courses. He also led Team USA in the International Strategic Crisis Negotiation Exercise and captained his university debate team, experiences that honed his skills in communication, leadership, and policy negotiation.

At GRAIL, Jack contributes to Forecasting AI Risks and Impacts on the Workforce (FAIRWORK) project, applying his quantitative and interdisciplinary training to examine how societies can prepare for the disruptive impacts of emerging technologies. He aspires to pursue a PhD exploring the intersection of technology, inequality, and policy design.
