Chandler is a PhD student in Political Science at the University of Utah, specializing in American politics and public administration, with a focus on causal inference statistical methods to research policing accountability, policing technology, and policing reform. He serves as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Police Accountability & Policy Evaluation Lab at the University of Utah, and as a Graduate Affiliate in the Governance & Responsible AI Lab at Purdue University working on projects related to policing technology, policing accountability, and police reform.

Chandler also has experience in public safety, having worked as a Security Supervisor and Field Training Officer for the University of Utah's Department of Public Safety.
